The Assembly Line
What do passion, MTV and Craigslist all have in common? These factors all led to the formation and rapid growth of NYC indie rock band, The Assembly Line. Brought together by an ad on Craigslist and a passion for making music, singer Thor Nguyen, bass player Zach Falkow, guitarist Chris Potter and drummer Josh Ridley have created an unstoppable musical force that has seen success in recent years, with placements on MTV, rave reviews in the press and shows with some of today's top artists. The Assembly Line showcase a heart-on-sleeve melodies with an accessible pop sensibility. Their tenacity and confidence resulted in numerous features on hit MTV shows, including "16 and Pregnant" and "Teen Mom 2" with their songs 'Madison', 'Awake', '11:11', and 'twenty-thousand leagues.'
Since then, The Assembly Line has continued to make a name for themselves, playing large home venues such as Terminal 5, Gramercy Theatre, Highline Ballroom, and Webster Hall in NYC, as well as North Star Bar in Philadelphia and Webster Theatre in Hartford CT. They've shared the stage with top acts including Maroon 5, Wiz Khalifa, Rookie of the Year and Allister. They had video premieres on Alternative Press and Pure Volume, and features on AOL, Artist Direct, and more. Coming off of their second year performing at CMJ, they look forward to more great shows including their upcoming January date at 9:30 Club in DC with Yellowcard, as well as a show at NYC's Gramercy Theatre with Ryan Beatty later in the month. The band plans to release a new EP in early 2013, eager to keep up the momentum and continue growing.
Watermelon is a Funk Rock band stationed in New York City. The band's unique sound is formed from the dynamic interplay of two singers, guitar, keys, and a driving rhythm section, producing a sound that has been called raucous rock 'n' roll with a punch of funk and undertones of hip hop. While the band's spirit can be traced to the revelry and comradery of Sly and the Family Stone, the band does not shy away from such diverse influences as the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Funkadelic, and Talking Heads. Seeking to break down all barriers with the audience, Watermelon lives for the live experience.
