The Barb Wire Dolls

The Barb Wire Dolls

"Barb Wire Dolls are the most explosive and exciting new punk band I've seen in decades!" - Mickey Leigh/brother of the late Joey Ramone and ex-tour manager for the Ramones. Being heralded as "the most important punk invasion to the U.S. since the Sex Pistols" (PMP) and receiving the "Best Live Punk Act" award in 2012 (Indy PRN), Barb Wire Dolls have rapidly become the critics and fans new choice as leaders of today's new punk explosion. "Like a shot heard around the world, Barb Wire Dolls are a true-to-the-genre punk band, connecting with audiences around the world." - Guitar World magazine.

After getting non stop airplay on Los Angeles' KROQ, Barb Wire Dolls were invited by the radio station to the U.S. for a series of concerts where they stormed L.A.'s music scene by selling out the Roxy Theatre, packing monthly residencies at the Viper Room, and attracting to their shows members of the Sex Pistols, Black Flag, L7, Flogging Molly, D Generation, Murder Junkies, and Frances Bean Cobain. "As the world is experiencing a new punk rock renaissance, Barb Wire Dolls' music carries a message, much like the anarchy of the Sex Pistols, but without the 'no future for you' aspect of it." - Mudkiss UK. Originally from the crisis-ridden Greece - and currently based out of Los Angeles - Barb Wire Dolls is a politically-charged blast of melodic high energy rock and roll that combines first wave punk, grunge, and metal riffs. "Barb Wire Dolls are the new face of Punk. The Dolls deliver “Real” authentic punk rock with 70's CBGB style and fashion with an oversexed frontwoman who makes Debbie Harry in her 70’s prime look downright homely, while singing like Patti Smith channeling Johnny Rotten. Punk’s not dead...not as long as Barb Wire Dolls have breath." - Music Entertainment magazine.

After playing over 300 shows across America, playing direct support for Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedy's), and headlining festivals in several U.S. states, Barb Wire Dolls entered Electrical Audio studios in Chicago for two nights to put their music to tape with legendary sound engineer Steve Albini (Nirvana, Stooges, Pixies). On November 6, 2012 Barb Wire Dolls released their much anticipated debut album, Slit "the best punk record since Nirvana's "Bleach" (Music & Riots magazine) with a record release show at the Bowery Electric in New York City. The limited edition Slit vinyl LP is being released in Los Angeles on April 24 with a 2nd record release show at The Viper Room . Barb Wire Dolls remain true to the DIY punk ethos retaining artistic control of their career by keeping it all in-house. The band is currently on their third U.S. national tour and will head to the U.K. in June for the first time to co-headline alongside 70's punk legends GBH, 999, & The Lurkers. Barb Wire Dolls will be headlining festival and club dates into early 2014 as they venture into most European countries by year's end.
