SO MANY WIZARDS

SO MANY WIZARDS

"Started by former China Room member Nima Kazerouni as a solo project in 2008, the name quickly picked up traction with his seven-song debut, Tree EP, released the same year. Following 2010’s Love Songs For When You Leave Me, produced by Chris Chu of The Morning Benders, Kazerouni solidified a performing line-up with the addition of Erik Felix, Geoff Gei, and Frank Maston. The L.A.-based four-piece recently released their first full-length, Warm Nothing, an album replete with dreamy guitar tones and genial vocal melodies that should fit in just right alongside Ghost Tiger, Little Ow,l and Gardens & Villa." --Santa Barbara Independent

Local Hero's bright, jaunty brand of indie rock'n'roll has been earning them recognition in their native Bay Area and beyond since the release of their debut EP two years ago. Frequently drawing comparisons to the Arctic Monkeys, Vamprie Weekend, and the Strokes, Local Hero's sound is elegant and lively, but with a little sandpaper around the edges.

Kera and the Lesbians

Kera and the Lesbians play gypsy folk with the attitude of garage rock and the guts of soul. One of the best local San Diego bands to hit the scene this year, they are making fans out of unsuspecting bystanders at every show. Their work ethic is diligent, their technique is solid, and most importantly, they have fun on stage, which shines through like a Mexican sunrise.

The band was formed in 2008 by singer/guitarist Kera Armendariz and bassist Phil MacNitt, but was only fully realized in 2010 with the addition of Mikey Delaney on drums and Ben Johnston on lead guitar. Phil MacNitt is a multi-instrumentalist with some serious chops and uncanny intuition. The fact that he's a lefty is pretty sweet considering that drummer Mikey Delaney is also a southpaw, making them the only left-handed rhythm section in town. Lead guitarist Ben Johnston adds an Americana dash of cayenne pepper to the lively music, tossing tasteful licks and reverberated sexiness into the gumbo.
