American Royalty is a psych-pop three piece that constructs an unlikely yet glowingly functional blend of dark psychedelic rock and poignant electronica. This creative soundscape is topped off by the vocal lead of Marc Gilfry, whose pipes both seem to fall somewhere in the realm of where blues and soul meet back on the other side.
The hard working trio spent most of 2012 on the road, from SXSW to CMJ, resting in LA only for a month to play a residency at The Echo and record their new EP. American Royalty's unique and seasoned approach to the stage is one of the reasons why KCRW highlighted them as one of the "LA bands to watch at CMJ 2012", and earned them support slots for a wide roster of talent including Metronomy, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Digitalism, The Presets, Ladyhawke, Hanni El Khatib and more.
In February 2013, American Royalty moved from Los Angeles to Brooklyn and released their new EP, Prismatic. The new EP showcases the band's distinctive style, characterized by forward-thinking electronic production, timeless blues rock musicianship and electrifying vocals. Prismatic received early support from radio outlets like BBC Radio 1 and KCRW, while Noisey described it as "a very special genre-hopping EP that'll never leave you bored, ...with R&B influenced vocals and tribal drumming".
The Featured Artist for Diesel's new music campaign, http://music.diesel.com/, and the www.Sonicbids.com branding & marketing model, Casey Desmond is a thoroughbred artist and modern-day renaissance woman. Her captivating music employs a four-octave vocal range, synth-driven melodies, and socially conscious lyrics destined to take her across the world.
Born and raised in a recording studio by her two musician parents, her bedroom houses a rare collection of vintage synths & keyboards. The space is a haven for her various guitars and recording gear. She's even converted her living room into a rehearsal space for her band. No one can deny that Casey's world is making music — but her artistry doesn't stop there. Drawing from her education in Illustration and Fashion Design (AIB-Lesley), Casey incorporates one-of-a-kind style and dramatic flair into her daily routine. Her stage-oufits are all hand-made and her persona is often compared to electro-pop icons like David Bowie, Peter Gabriel, Cyndi Lauper, & Blondie.
Her accomplishments include writing and recording with multi-gold and platinum producers Robert Ellis Orrall (Taylor Swift, Martina McBride, Lindsay Lohan) Anthony J. Resta (Elton John, Collective Soul, Shawn Mullins, Duran Duran), Grammy-Award winner Will Ackerman and bassist Tony Levin (Peter Gabriel). She has garnered over two-dozen songwriting awards & prizes, film/tv placements, composition work with major networks and music libraries as well as two tracks on a Universal Music compilation alongside Amy Winehouse & Duffy. (*details below)
This year she was named one of the "Top 10 Artists of 2010" at Indie-Music.com & was selected a 2010 New Music Seminar Artist to Watch. Her new EP, Heart-Shaped Faces is set for release this fall on www.caseydesmond.com. When she's not performing you can find her volunteering for animal and human rights.
