Daniel Neusom is a singer/songwriter and flutist whose work has been described as “riveting”, “galvanizing” “incredibly moving” and “passionate”. “When he sings he becomes music”. “He has a soul stirring voice”
Daniel was born in Detroit, Michigan at the height of the Motown era. His mother was a pianist and his father played piano and French Horn.
At the age of seven he decided he wanted to learn how to play an instrument because his best friend at the time played clarinet in the school band. Daniel’s mother decided he should play the flute because she loved the sound.
He moved to Toledo, Ohio at the age of twelve and began to seriously study flute with Marjorie Szor of the Toledo Symphony. Through much hard work and his innate talent he excelled winning various contests and scholarships culminating with the Toledo Symphony’s Young Artist Competition. As a winner of that competition he soloed with The Toledo Symphony to a glowing review.
At age 16 Daniel was accepted into the prestigious Interlochen Arts Academy. He became principal flutist in the Interlochen Arts Academy Orchestra. During that time Daniel discovered and began to develop his singing voice at The Clearview Baptist Church in Pontiac, Michigan.
Daniel had a powerful talent for acting and switched majors at Interlochen becoming a drama major with much success. After graduating from Interlochen and before moving to New York he got his first professional acting/singing job at age 17 playing “The Leading Player” in Pippin.
He moved to New York, where he still lives. In New York he worked for many years as an actor and began to write songs at age twenty. Over the years he has done many concerts as a singer, most recently at The Duplex in New York
His song “I Recommend God” won a music contest. A part of the prize was studio time which resulted in his gospel CD “Something Within”.
His song “All I Want To Do Is Your Will” was recorded by singer Deian McBryde on his CD "Mollyboy"
Daniel was ordained a minister at age twenty four and presently serves as pastor of a church he co-founded called The Sacred Light Fellowship.
