Polkadot Cadaver

Polkadot Cadaver

When Baltimore based Alt-Metal act Dog Fashion Disco came to an end, it wasn't the end of front man Todd Smith, guitarist Jasan Stepp Guitar and drummer John Ensminger musical output.

During the near decade the group spent in Dog Fashion Disco. Smith and his merry band of misfits would amass a loyal underground following of fans (dubbed the "mushroom cult") through countless tours with the likes of Slayer, Mindless Self Indulgence, Nothingface and Lacuna Coil. Although Dog Fashion Disco never achieved commercial success, their musical legacy gained the respect of musical contemporaries like Serj Tankian of System of a Down (who made a guest appearance on Anarchists of Good Taste), Mushroomhead and American Head Charge, while the group's music lives on through the internet and continues to create new members of the "mushroom cult" long after the band's demise.

While Smith and company may have become sick of living the vagabond lifestyle that a touring metal band requires, the thought of giving up music entirely never even crossed their minds. Within mere months of their former outfits demise the group had created a new group, Polkadot Cadaver to unleash their schizophrenic musical madness.

"Jasan and I decided to start a studio band and Polkadot Cadaver started as shells of songs on Jasan's computer. After we fleshed out the songs we pitched it Rotten Records, because we loved how they handled the last Dog Fashion Disco album," says Smith about the formation of the group. "They immediately got behind us and as soon as received a recording budget we went to Wrightway Studios to work and complete the record. Polkadot Cadaver is very similar to Dog Fashion Disco stylistically. The songs are still very quirky and different from each other." Recorded in the bowels of Baltimore with producer Steven Wright (Jimmie's Chicken Shack, SR-71), Polkadot Cadaver's debut album picks up right where Dog Fashion Disco left off. The brilliance of the band's musical output lies within their ability to sonically shape shift like a musical chameleon that can adapt to any music style. "What's The Worst Thing" blisters with thrashing Slayer like riffage and then spills into the soothing folk-pop melodies of "Chloroform Girl". The album's lyrical insanity the delivers homicidal blow to Polkadot Cadaver's musical homicide, covering gamut of topics ranging from plane crashes, narcissistic models, Christ, the devil and good old Baltimore, MD.

One Eyed Doll

Described as Strawberry Shortcake meets Gwar and Valentine's Day meets Halloween with the visual impact of Japanese Anime, One-Eyed Doll is an award-winning Austin, Texas power rock duo with a loyal global fan base and extensive international press exposure. In 2009, 2010 2011 the group swept the SXSW Music Awards in categories such as Best Punk Band, Best Metal Band, Best Goth Band, Best New Band, Best Acoustic Guitarist, Best Electric Guitarist, Best Producer, Best Drummer, Best Songwriter, Best Female Vocalist and more. The group has independently released three full-length albums, appears in Revolver, Guitar World and Guitar Player magazines and has left several national tours in its wake including major anime conventions (DragonCon, AniMix, IKKiCON, Anime Overload, ShadoCon, etc.) Blazing the band's wildfire buzz amongst their growing legions of religiously crazed fans is One-Eyed Doll's cult leader: the impossible-not-to-love Kimberly Freeman, whose punishment is so sweet you'll beg for more.

Exotic Animal Petting Zoo

Exotic Animal Petting Zoo is an experimental/prog/rock band from Crown Point, Indiana that was formed in 2004 by brothers Brandon and Stephen Carr. Their initial sound combines the likes of The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Smashing Pumpkins, Deftones, and Sigur Rós.

They recorded a 5 song EP of different musical styles and songs of music in search of a bass player able to play them all. Scott Certa was recruited for bassist in 05' and played local shows around the region. It wasn't until the spring of 06' when the band recorded their first 4 song EP which got them opening up for national acts such as Kaddisfly(SubCity), As Blood Runs Black (Mediaskare) and Brazil (Immortal). With the growing number of online music communites, Exotic Animal Petting Zoo were quickly turning heads all over the country, eventually capturing the attention of Mediaskare Records, which later signed them to their label.

Exotic Animal Petting Zoo recorded their first full length debut record entitled "I Have Made My Bed In Darkness" released in August 2008 and has gained huge attention immediately creating a universal sound appealing to most everyone, but still in genres including mathcore/ambient/progrock because of their technical riffs, downtempo songs and time signature changes. In October 2008 the band was invited by Fear Before the March of Flames (now Fear Before) to do a fall tour entitled Dudestorm Part Deux: featuring Fear Before, I Am The Ocean, and Dameira. New guitar player, Steve Radakovich joined the band on this tour giving the band a new and inventive element to their sound.
