"SUSAN COLLINS is my favorite singer . . . period!"
- PAUL SHAFFER, Late Show with David Letterman
SUSAN COLLINS returns to the Cutting Room in her autobiographical musical revue, YOU CAN TAKE THE GIRL OUTTA BROOKLYN, Friday October 4th at 8 PM for one show only. COLLINS, with musical director BETTE SUSSMAN and cohorts ULA HEDWIG and ANGELA CAPPELLLI, tells her remarkable true life story: from singing a cappella on the streets of her Brooklyn housing project to working with Jimi Hendrix, Todd Rundgren, Brian Wilson, Kiss, ELO, and John Lennon, to sounding better than ever today, front and center. Interviewed for Morgan Neville’s 20 FEET FROM STARDOM, COLLINS’s live show embodies the film’s triumphant echoes of another voice millions have loved without knowing her name. SUSAN COLLINS’s YOU CAN TAKE THE GIRL OUTTA BROOKLYN has long been an insider’s Cutting Room favorite. This is a chance to hear one of the all time great rock and pop vocalists live with stellar piano and vocal accompaniment – an astoundingly big sound with no studio tricks.
SUSAN wrote the show's title music with legendary songwriter Ellie Greenwich.
