David Knopfler (of Dire Straits)
Co-founder of the rock group Dire Straits, David Knopfler has subsequently, faithfully pursued his own musical vision, writing and producing his own compositions on eleven solo CDs to date.
Knopfler has been fortunate enough to reach a wide audience without compromising his art. While he's enjoyed the respect and admiration of his musical peers, widespread critical acclaim, international awards and worldwide chart successes, he has managed, in his own country, Britain, to keep a profile so low as to be nearly invisible. He lives quietly in the English countryside, notching up an impressive list of writing credits.
A regular panelist at music conventions and lifelong member of organizations like Amnesty International and Adopt a Minefield, David has always made uncompromising life choices: "I don't regard what I do as remotely glamorous. I write, record and perform my music because I completely love doing it and despite any so called celebrity status that sometimes comes with the job."
David will be joined by Harry Bogdanovs who is a lifelong friend and co-writer on numerous solo projects. You won't want to miss this unique acoustic show!
Harry Bogdanovs has written and co written songs for a variety of artists including; Kiki Dee (Elton John), The Shadows, Roger Whittaker, Toyah Wilcox, O'chi Brown, Helen Terry (Culture Club), Chris Thompson (Manfred Mann's Earthband), Amazulu, Mondo Rock, The Kids From Fame and many more. Harry wrote 2 songs for John Farnham's multi-platinum album 'Whispering Jack' (1987). He has recorded and toured with iconic German stadium rocker Westernhagen for the 2005 album ‘Nahaufnahme' (#1 on the German charts). He is currently co writing with lifelong friend and Dire Straits founder member David Knopfler
