Original Powerpoprock Band From Chicago

Workhorse Kings

Ah the Winter of 2008, twas cold and blustery. Things were still and calm, until one day the winds of change came to the suburbs of Chicago. Four lads who had been itching to get back to their instrument for too long latched onto the current and began playing again. With all different musical backgrounds they all brought a new element to what they had been used to, but the music seemed to come together with ease.

With the Dougherty brothers (Dan-lead vocals, gutiar/ Kevin-Drums, backup vocals) already having a musical bond by knowing each others timing and expressions, they were uber excited to have fellow friend and music phenom Marco Pellillo join in their quest to make some real music around town.

After 4 months of practice, new gear, high expectations, plenty of beer and a 10 song repeture; it was time to let the world get a taste of the Workhorse Kings. Dan, Kevin, Marco and Dave Raymer set out to play numerous shows in the Chicagoland area in the Summer and Fall of 2009 and have started to create a buzz around town. Workhorse Kings also have created a stir with their Fireside Chats (as seen on Facebook, Youtube and Myspace). Raymer (Bass player) unfortunatly had to leave the band for other life plans in late July. Workhorse Kings quickly filled that void with new bass player Anthony and we are thrilled to have him on board in all aspects! Still forging ahead they slayed the Double Door recently and have a DVD of their fireside chats for handout.
