Originally hailing from Cape Cod, MA, international multi-talented young songstress Dawn Derow began performing at the tender age of 8. A versatile vocalist, Dawn has also performed in the world of Opera and received critical acclaim in her concert performances in Tuscany back in the late 90's. She made her UK debut at London’s Fringe Theater as “Maria” in an all-international cast of Twelfth Night . After returning to the “Big Apple” to portray the role of “Cathy” in The Last Five Years at the Emerging Artist Theater in New York City, Dawn was eagerly hired to be Guest Entertainer and Principal Singer for Norwegian Cruise Lines. She performed several cabaret shows and concerts for them, her most popular one featuring the music of Karen Carpenter. In 2008, Dawn made her Cabaret Debut at the Duplex Theater in NYC with her show “Shooting My Arrow”, and continued to grow as a Cabaret Artist searching for her niche. In June of 2010 she appeared at Don’t Tell Mama in the well-received "You Live, You Learn...hopefully" directed by Lennie Watts, featuring Sean Harkness, Donna Kelly, with back up vocals by Suzanne Fiore and Jason Reiff, and musical director and arranger, Tracy Stark. This was the first collaboration with Sean Harkness, who now she considers her "Musical Partner". Over the past year Dawn continues to sing in various piano bars and small venues around Manhattan, such as Metropolitan Room, Core Club, Laurie Beachman and Birdland and now, "THE CUTTING ROOM". Some of her favorite theatrical credits include principal roles in The Human Comedy, a concert version of Les Miserable where she played "Cosette" opposite American Idol's Constantine Maroulis and “Antonia” in Man of La Mancha.
"Music 4 Two" was conceived in the summer of 2011, Dawn and Sean have been working on the show since then, and watching it grow, and blossom into what Dawn claims to be the true message from her musical soul. That's what makes singing the Dobie Gray tune written by Mentor Williams "Drift Away" one of her favorite mantra's "Give me the beat boys and free my soul, I wanna get lost in your rock and roll"
If you happen to catch Dawn & Sean performing its pretty standard they will do this song, as well as original music, blues, folk rock, classic rock and the occasional pop tune.
