THE FRONT BOTTOMS
Brian Sella – vocals, guitars

What can we say about The Front Bottoms? We know we love them: a punk band that uses acoustic guitar, indie-rock dance grooves, Springsteen-y keyboard lines (this they might deny). It's hook-filled… it's anthemic… it's confessional. Maybe Joni Mitchell by way of Green Day? They must have heard some Replacements along the way, and it seems like what Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers did for the Boston suburbs these guys are doing for Bergen County, NJ. But they still leave us scratching our heads. Just what the hell have the Front Bottoms alchemized?
A Great Big Pile of Leaves
Brooklyn, NY-based trio, A Great Big Pile of Leaves got their start in 2007 when guitarist/singer Peter Weiland and drummer Tyler Soucy took time from their prior projects to start writing material of their own. The first six songs came together as the self-released EP The Fiery Works, which the duo put out as a free download on their Web site. As word spread online, the band's fanbase grew along with Weiland and Soucy's
excitement to get back to recording.
Continuing with the formula of self-producing, The Fiery Works II followed shortly afterward and was also released as a free download. Within the next year, the digital releases were downloaded over 12,000 times and the group prepared for a live setting with the addition of Tucker Yaro on bass. After playing several shows and writing a batch of new songs over the next few months, the newfound trio prepared themselves to record a full-length record Have You Seen My Prefrontal Cortex?
FROM THE DESK OF JOSHUA A CLIFTON: This is something i've wanted to do for the last 10 years. I grew up in a home full of different kinds of music. Music from the likes of The Beatles,CCR, Mariachi, Elvis, Muddy Waters, Ray Charles & many more. I always thought it would be cool to do something modern with a little more soul or passion. So I & a group of my close friends started RAVENHILL. Having had an ecclectic background of punk rock, gospel,Jazz,Blues, grunge,indie,hard-core,soul, & Classic rock we are gonna take a stab at it. We are having a blast just being friends that play music with each other so hopefully that good time over flows into the crowd. WE JUST WANNA MAKE YOU DANCE!!!!!! Be Blessed.
