Damn Right!, Hugo Zapata

Formed in Chicago in 2000, OL is the collective of Spencer & Bethany Lokken. This highly versatile trio has enlightened dance floors from Mexico to Maine with their eclectic mixes, from sunset chill-out to bass-dropping e-funk, and an array of other futuristic sounds. Theirs is a democratic mission: to expose as many people as possible to the artists they admire and respect. What sets Orchard Lounge apart from other club DJs is that you won't always find them in the club. In recent years they've built a reputation as a hard-touring festival act and set-break crowd favorite, frequently supporting such bands as The Disco Biscuits, Lotus, STS9, and Umphrey's McGee. Not to dismiss their roots, they've played alongside heavyweights like John Talabot, Matthew Dear, Aeroplane, Bonobo, DJ Krush, Lindstrom, DJ T, Jamie Jones, Booka Shade, Metro Area, and Maya Jane Coles. They've also had the rare pleasure of performing for thousands at world famous venues such as Red Rocks Amphitheater, The Hammerstein Ballroom, and Millennium Park.
When they're not in the DJ booth, you'll find this musically obsessed tried in the studio. Putting decades worth of musical training and education to good use, OL's first EP will be dropping in late 2012. Always looking to experiment with different sounds and studio techniques, what the fans can expect is a unique amalgamation of sounds, from heady ambient sleepers to four on the floor dance floor destroyers. Despite their affinity for live music, OL's focus hasn't shifted since the group's inception over a decade ago: to provide sophisticated and stylish DJ sets that are appropriate in a variety of settings...
Damn Right! formed onstage at the legendary Baltimore venue, the 8X10. The members of the band immediately noticed a distinct chemistry and so did The 8X10. Over the next few years the 8X10 took Damn Right! under it's wing and allowed them to nurture their sound through seasonal residencies. These residencies helped the band to refine their signature sound through countless hours of improvisational dance music to the willing ears of Baltimore natives - who know a good party when they see it!
Since the birth of Damn Right! in 2007, the band has been performing all over the great United States of America. On its beaches, mountain tops, festival stages, and some of the most renown clubs and theaters to grace this great land. Throughout their adventures, Damn Right! has had some of the worlds most talented musicians sit in and record with the them including Aron Magner and Jon Gutwillig of the Disco Biscuits, Marco Benevento of the Benevento/Russo Duo, Billy Martin of Medeski Martin & Wood, Clay Parnell of Brothers Past, legendary drummer Johnny Rabb, and Bernie Worrell of P-Funk and The Talking Heads. These players add to the rich, sonic, fabric Damn Right! creates in a live setting.
Presently, Damn Right! finds drummer/producer/designer Tommy Bradel and bassist/producer Johnny Fissinger living in Philadelphia where they create music day in and day out. Their ever evolving signature sound is full of electronic breaks, hip hop samples, and pop synths which drive every show to be a full on dance party with special guests joining the group in a live setting.
