THE SLOWDOWN is a 6-piece diversely-influenced band from Kansas City, MO. The conception of THE SLOWDOWN began in 2006 when singer/songwriter/guitarist Sam Hoskins began writing and recording home demos with bassist/recording engineer Jeremy Wilson. After 2 1/2 years of recording, writing, and medicating THE SLOWDOWN recruited fellow alchemist Josh Johnson for additional guitar duties. THE SLOWDOWN Ver. 1.0 Added Big Jim Organ (Sirhan Sirhan) behind the drum kit, and the band gained instant recognition in the Kansas City rock scene with their brooding heavy and melodic live shows. A very short time afterwards the band was added to the roster of Middle Child Booking. The band returned from a successful tour through the North West and West Coast supporting they're self titled E.P. Now with three new members THE SLOWDOWN will be recording a new full length album and venturing on some regional dates in the near future.

The Devil's Marmalade
After narrowly averting the clutches of Detroit's sinister death grip, two bra-in-laws scoop up young native KC bass slinger to muster their Motown Magic and deliver an energetic brew of "groovacious" injected punk blues that makes you wanna grind on something till you drop.
