"The Mercators sidle slinky and slow. Whether soaked in fuzz or ramshackle twang, there's a foot-tapping energy that infests their musical foundation like hook-hungry termites gorging themselves." Chris Parker Independent Weekly
Gina Mobilio
Gina Mobilio is a spoken word artist and singer-songwriter based out of NYC. She studied poetry under the direction of Jerry Williams at Marymount Manhattan College, and has been a featured artist at several venues in NYC and the Tri-State area for both her music and poetry, including performances at the bi-annual Antifolk Festval held at Sidewalk Cafe.
She has obtained in-house writing and editing positions at two international and national publications, and is currently a contributing writer for American Songwriter Magazine.
Shortly after Mobilio graduated college in 2008, her original one-act play "The Parlor Room" was produced at the Phoenix Performing Arts Center under the direction of Brandon Wood as part of their Summer showcase.
Intrigued by the vulgar yet romantic writings of Charles Bukowski and Richard Brautigan, Mobilio started writing letters in poetic format to ex lovers in 2009. Fearful of mailing the letters to the actual recipients they were intended for, she began submitting them in lieu of payment to her creditors to at least have them read by another person. Gina's favorite word is 'creep.'
