Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

Nitty Gritty Dirt Band

The iconic and profoundly influential Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, often cited as a catalyst for an entire movement in Country Rock and American Roots Music, continues to add to their legendary status.

With multi-platinum and gold records, strings of top ten hits such as "Fishin' In The Dark" and "Mr. Bojangles", multiple Grammy, IBMA, CMA Awards and nominations, the band's accolades continue to accumulate.

Their groundbreaking "Will The Circle Be Unbroken" album has been inducted into the U.S. Library of Congress as well as the Grammy Hall of Fame. NGDB’s recording of "Mr. Bojangles" was also inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2010.

NGDB (Jeff Hanna, Jimmie Fadden, Bob Carpenter, John McEuen) are touring in support of their most recent release, the critically acclaimed album "Speed of Life"
(2009, SugarHill Records) with recent tour stops at Bonnaroo and Levon Helm's Midnight Ramble.

The Stray Birds

Formed in friendship and honed on the road, The Stray Birds’ sound is spun with a stirring subtlety and grace. With wood, strings, and three voices raised in harmony, their performances bow to the richness of American folk music traditions—and speak to an uncompromising reverence for songs. The trio’s full-length debut, “The Stray Birds”, was named one of the Top 10 Americana/Folk Releases of 2012 by NPR. The band was widely regarded as one of the outstanding highlights at this year's International Folk Alliance event in Toronto.

The Stray Birds were raised within a few miles of farmland from each other in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Maya de Vitry and Oliver Craven first shared a song in January 2010 when a snowy Pennsylvania winter welcomed collaboration between the two creative flames. Grounded in the unshakeable groove of bassist Charles Muench, the trio landed their signature sound.

Co-produced by The Stray Birds and Stuart Martin, THE STRAY BIRDS was recorded at Stonebridge Studios in the hills of Virginia, where the midnight crickets and frogs have the last word. The arrangements breathe with the subtlety and nuance that introduced their sound on the BORDERLAND EP (2010), but with a new and rich exuberance. Ringing in on clawhammer banjo, bass, and fiddle— with an homage to Ralph Stanley, twin fiddles, and a Telecaster all tucked into the heart of the album—The Stray Birds have both refined and widened their sound on this wholly original debut full-length album.
