The L. Mixashawn Trio
$10.00
Come to a special evening of music on Thursday, January 17th at Ginny's Supper Club for the one-of-a-kind saxophonist-storyteller L. Mixhashawn Rozie. Mixashawn is a prolific saxophonist of Indigenous descent who embodies the contributions Native Americans have made to jazz. Having played Ravi Coltrane and Reggie Workman, Mixashawn is best known for the epic "Afro-Algonquin" group which he founded in the late 1970s with Coltrane's drummer Rashid Ali. Join him for a special evening at Ginny's Supper Club with his trio that feature bass legend Henry Grimes, and a special guest appearance by Zane Massey, son of jazz royalty Cal Massey. They'll play great music of the Americas from Ellington to Coltrane, Jimi Hendrix to Abby Lincoln and originals that spans the stylistic range of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. You won't want to miss this historic show with dinner and drinks to match. Tickets are $10 and showtimes are 7p-11p.
