Mix a serving of soul, a pinch of optimism, and a dash of heart and you get Green Tea. Not just your average soul singer, Green Tea, pours her feelings into her music. She skilfully mixes sultry soul with positive lyrics and encouraging tones that make you want another dose every time she sings.
Most singers recall a love for music at a young age, but Green Tea developed her love before she even entered the world. Her mother recalls her stomach dancing energetically whenever she was around music; little did she know, a young talent was brewing inside. As a D.C. native, Green Tea stays true to the eclectic style that moves through the city and blends her inspirations of gospel, soul, jazz, rhythm and blues, opera, and even rock and roll into her craft.
She has opened up for artists such as Slick Rick, Kindred the Family Soul, Dead Prez, Chuck Brown, Eric Roberson, Fertile Ground, Chuck Brown, and Anthony David and has entertained all over from D.C., Maryland, and Virginia, Pennsylvania, Arizona, California. Green Tea’s music touches the soul, while her delivery sets the tone for growth, power, and love. “Music has the power to break the cycle of an impoverished mindset,” she said.
Green Tea has 3 full length albums, Have A Cup of Green Tea Dosage I: Shades of Green, Dosage II: Choices, Dosage III: The Time to B.E., as well as 1 remix cd, The Crazy 8s, and 1 mix-tape, Beautiful Weirdo. Green Tea’s works have been received with high praises and her fans are always anxiously awaiting her next project
With her music, Green Tea’s focus is sharing her talent with the world. “I guess above all, I want people to know and understand the power of music,” she said. Her ultimate goal, besides entertaining her audience, is to empower individuals to grow, love, and heal thru music. No matter the time of day, good or bad, those who witness Green Tea’s gift and talent savour her words and sound, and experience a unique flow that is few and far between. After every performance, Green Tea keeps you wanting another cup of Green Tea, the musical medicine for the soul.
ELIJAH BLAND brings a refreshing dimension to the modern world of soul music. Coupled with powerful lyrics and soulful grooves, his silky smooth delivery is a gift that has already touched many around the world. His sound fuses elements of jazz, funk and R&B to create a unique brand of soul music.
With a healthy blend of passion, purpose, faith, and love, the multi-talented singer, songwriter, producer, and musician embodies a humble expression of soul that fits the mold of a true artist. Largely influenced by old jazz and soul records from his childhood, Bland is a self-taught musician who has been tuning his uncanny ear for music since anyone can remember. He credits his parents as the founders of his musical journey: "They provided the opportunities for me to explore my gifts and create; I could never thank them enough!"
Elijah was born and raised in Hackensack, New Jersey, where he generally kept his artistic abilities under the shell of being a lifetime athlete. After a successful college basketball career and receiving his bachelor's degree, he turned to his creative side and focused much of his time on songwriting and production. In writing for other artists, however, he realized a voice of his own that would become the tool he used to pursue his career as an independent artist. It was then that he decided to follow his passion and turn his life over to music.
Elijah's debut album "Just Me..." (April 2007, released under the name "E. Bland") quickly earned him the respect of music lovers everywhere! With a very fitting title, Bland was at the helm of all writing, production and recording. His first musical effort boasts of an immediate international reach, including sales in Brazil, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, and more.
His sophomore release "Soulcentric" (August 2008) has received rave reviews! It includes the hit singles "Necessary", "Talk To Me", and "Sugar High" (featuring Grammy-nominated soul singer,Wayna). With an overwhelming response since its release in November 2007, "Necessary" quickly became a MySpace.com favorite and has been in rotation on Internet, satellite and mainstream radio stations around the world. In 2009, "Talk To Me" made its debut on the nationally syndicated Michael Baisden Show and "Necessary" was nominated for Best R&B Song in the 9th Annual Independent Music Awards.
On stage, he leads his band as its lead vocalist and primary keyboard player, and has been known to play nearly every instrument on stage at some point during the show. His performances continue to touch countless lives with positive, uplifting music. To date he has performed throughout the east coast of the U.S. while looking to broaden his horizons whenever possible. In 2012, Elijah performed on the world-renowned Capital Jazz SuperCruise, in a lineup of legendary Jazz and Soul artists, including George Duke, Gerald Albright, Lalah Hathaway, Boney James, Dwele, Yolanda Adams, Eric Roberson, and many more.
Anyone who knows this man can attest to his undying passion and love for creative expression. He is also a talented graphic designer and voiceover artist. Elijah Bland has dedicated his life to the arts and is committed to sharing his gifts with the world, one soul at a time.
Born and raised in a musical family, it is hardly surprising that Felicia is as talented as she is - and if you ask her about her musical influences, she will quickly name her grandmother and her father before she names anyone else. She’s been singing since before she could talk, and lists influences like Mariah Carey, Donnie Hathaway and Barbra Streisand. When pressed to talk about why she picked these artists, she refers to their unparalleled power to touch people's emotions as something she infuses into her own work.
A gifted, self-taught pianist, Felicia writes, sings and produces her own music. Audience members and industry notables often remark not only on the startling effortlessness of her vocal range, but on her warm timbre, the crystal clear articulation and the rich vibrato.
When you listen to Felicia, you will also hear some of her influences, but you will hear something special of Felicia's own: a young woman whose ability to touch the heart has only just begun to flower. Her highly anticipated debut EP is due to be released in early 2013. Look forward to hearing much, much more from this talented and versatile young woman.
