In 2004 multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Brando Kress started creating ambient electronic music under the moniker Chateau d'If. The name was taken from the Alexandre Dumas classic, The Count Of Monte Cristo in which the main character, Edmond Dantes is imprisoned on the island prison of Chateau d'If where he grows and transforms into the person he was always meant to be. The literal English translation is the Castle or Fortress of Possibility. Within the lyrics and music, Brando conveys an aural soundscape for the life lessons and social constructs that mold the human experience.
After a long hiatus that took him through Berklee College of Music, moves to LA, Phoenix and finally Brooklyn, the project regained focus in 2014. 2015 brought the debut release of Possibilities followed by 2017’s LOST EP and 2018’s Dream Sequence.
Andrew Kaneb is an independent folk-rock singer/songwriter based out of New Jersey. After studying classical violin for thirteen years, at the age of nineteen, Andrew shifted his focus to singing and writing songs. In September 2018, he released his debut EP, "Blue Room," which he followed up with three singles in the summer of 2019. His influences include Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, and the Lumineers. He has played at a variety of venues in the New York area.
