Whitney Chitwood is a Chicago comedian and lesbian squirrel in a shoebox. She's been called "inspiring" by Maria Bamford, and Eddie Pepitone calls her one of his "favorite comics everyone should know." Her debut album "The Bakery Case" was released this year on Stand Up! Records. She's performed and headlined at a whole slew of festivals, clubs, and nifty rooms all across the country. In addition, Whit has been the requested opener for the likes of Rhea Butcher, Adam Conover, Cameron Esposito, and Greg Behrendt. "The Bakery Case" was featured and played in full twice on Sirius XM's First Listen a month prior to release.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Sammy Arechar is an accomplished poet, a prolific wedding DJ, and a stand-up comedian. Sammy has been called a “Funny Human” by BrightestYoungThings and a comic to watch by Time Out Chicago. His sense of humor and his stage presence that’s often described as “personified chicken salad” has landed him gigs performing at such venues as the Steppenwolf Theatre, The Barrymore Theatre, and Turner Hall Ballroom; along with festivals such as the NBCUniversal & Second City’s Break Out Fest, The 3rd Annual 26th Annual AV Club & Onion Comedy Festival, RIOT LA, Bridgetown, High Plains Comedy Festival, the 2014 Comedy Exposition of Chicago, and the Limestone Comedy Festival. Arechar has also been featured on MTV’s Wonderland.
Sammy Arechar also moonlights as a DJ by the name “Yung Zucchini” – A project that began with the first “Zucchini Party” (formerly Sammy’s Birthday Show) in 2014. Arechar hosts an hour of stand-up comedy, followed by introducing a local musical artist, and a 30 minute break for free pizza before Arechar takes the stage for the infamous “Yung Zucchini Midnight-Mix”. Since then, Yung Zucchini has been featured as an after-party host at the Comedy Exposition of Chicago, the AV Club & Onion Comedy Festival, and many music venues across the country. Yung Zucchini also puts out an annual New Years Even Mix (formerly the ZucchiNYE series) which is available for free to stream and download at zucchini.world. The Zucchini Party itself, has grown bigger each year and with the momentum built off the event, it inspired Arechar and a few other comics to plan a weekend of events showcasing both comedy & music.
Arechar is one of the co-founders of the Cream City Comedy Festival, an independent stand-up comedy festival that takes place annually in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. CCCF is a non-profit group, showcasing the unique voices that Milwaukee, the surrounding areas, and the country has to offer, all while raising money for a good cause. While all shows are free to attend, donations are collected at the end of each event for the year’s local/regional organization of choice. Since it’s inception in 2016, the Cream City Comedy Festival has benefitted such organizations as the ACLU, Wisconsin NAMI, Milwaukee COA Youth & Family Centers, Wisconsin Humane Society, and the United Performing Arts Fund. More information can be found at creamcityfest.com
Arechar’s love for Milwaukee is no secret, you can read about it through Sammy’s writing, which has been featured in “The Milwaukee Anthology” from Belt Publishing
