On the 14th September, the Cure tribute THEXPLODINGBOYS will return to the Wonder Ballroom one last time to embrace their own disintegration with a final performance. The all-star lineup will consist of both current and former members from the band's 20-year history. Sharing the bill are special guests Prince Tribute EROTIC CITY, Portland Dreampop & Psychedelic Darkwave band DEVOURED BY FLOWERS, and DJ KENNY opening and spinning between sets. Please join us for this very special ALL-AGES with bar for patrons 21 and over.
Named after a powerful but obscure Head on the Door b-side, it's not surprising that Portland, Oregon, USA-based Cure tribute THEXPLODINGBOYS deliver more than a collection of best-of singles. Live shows are the full experience of the Cure in their prime.

The band is comprised of die-hard Cure fans whose knowledge spans every song ever to hit stage, vinyl, analogue tape, or binary code. Dynamics, nuances, and an occasional twist or mash-up are carefully thought out, and set lists are crafted to enhance the impact of every song. Personas are also dead on, down to the eyeliner, big hair, and lipstick.

Whether you know one Cure song or you know all of them, you will come away impressed by the breadth of catalogue and the caliber of the musicianship of theXplodingboys. So pull on your face, pull on your pout, and get a little piece of the Cure close to you. You'll fall in love with somebody else, again, tonight...

Devoured By Flowers

DEVOURED BY FLOWERS is revolutionary Dream-Pop, with elements of Post-Punk but not overtly so, and elements of Psychedelia but not gratuitously so. From the musical kingdoms of Ashkelon Sain (Trance To The Sun) and Dorian Campbell (Sumerland), this alliance has resulted in an album of refinement and magical introspection. Dorian’s voice has been compared to Ian McCulloch (Echo & the Bunnymen) and Scott Walker’s lower baritone moments. His mastery of the twelve string guitar shines. Ashkelon’s guitar work is an otherworldly shoegaze sound, but with more theory and composition than your average rock guitarist. His bass lines and production style are reminiscent of the old 4AD recordings, and The Cure’s Disintegration. --Projekt Records
