Songwriting (ONLINE)

New to songwriting? Always wanted to try it out but didn't know where to start? Experienced at the art form but in a creative rut? This class series addresses all of these needs. We'll discuss lyric writing, melody writing, song concepts, song components and their function and much more.

The focus is on making you a better songwriter and, at the same time, instilling an appreciation of the art form. The teaching style is one of coaching rather than criticizing, and the emphasis is on the work of the participants and not on the lecturing of the teacher.

Live far from the Freight? Can't make it to class on Tuesday evenings? No problem. The online songwriting class is taught entirely online. The online class includes 9 media rich chapters about songwriting. Students in the online class will have permanent access to these lessons. Have any specific questions about songwriting? The instructor will be available to the online students during the six weeks of the class. Lastly the instructor will evaluate five songs during course of the class and will send recorded comments to the student.
