Vic N' the Narwhals
Los Narwhals, as the streets of Denver refer to them are a Latin Psych/Surf band whose influences range from The Growlers, The Doors, Cumbia, and all around garage, surf, and punk rock. The feeling of being in a "Narwhal" show is a trip back in time with Latin rhythmic sounds of the drums and bass, with a groovy pinch of keys and organs, topped off with the nostalgic but familiar sounds of the vintage guitars. Once you start dancing, this delicious concoction of sounds will make sure you don't stop until the end.
The band has opened up for The Mystic Braves, Guantanamo Baywatch Latin Grammy Nominated The Chamanas, Jessica Hernandez and the Deltas, Thee Commons, Santoros, and many more. They have also done live in studio sessions at Colorado Public Radio, been featured in the Metropolitan Magazine, and Barf Magazine. They have played in festivals like UMS (CO) along side Alvvas, Holy Wave, Deer Hunter, among others and have played in ICT Fest (KS).
"Vic N’ The Narwhals released their debut EP, “Los Narwhals,” earlier this year. The Denver surf-rock quartet writes songs about heartache in both English and Spanish. The band, which resides in and helps manage the Denver-area D.I.Y. venue Ursa Minor, received a nomination for Best Rock Band in Westword’s 2018 music awards." -Colorado Public Radio
"Its like The Doors but with the keyboard style of Smash Mouth" - Tim
Claire Morales has been playing shows since she was 13. 2015 saw the transition solo singer songwriter to full scale band with her debut LP "Amaranthine." Folky roots have given way to melodic, hazy, 70s inspired rock. Intense and intricate lyrics echo in and out of fuzzed guitar like a warbly, warm dream.
Listen if you like: PJ Harvey, Angel Olsen, Laura Marling.
Easy Lovin' is the sultry songwriting and fleet-fingered guitar riffs of Ethan Lovell and the swizzle stick drum beats of James Tate-Cortese. The two met at a Denver skatepark after moving to town, and since then you can't keep their wheels off the street or their grooves off the beat. Hailing from the middle of the heartland in Lincoln, Nebraska, The Rewind is an up and coming hard rock band who have spent the years since 2012 crafting a sound unique to them. Blending the riff-driven rock n’ roll of the 1970s with a melodic, catchy style that grabs the listener’s attention, the band writes music that can be described concisely as fun and refreshing. Taking note of the work ethic of bands like Aerosmith and Kiss, The Rewind committed themselves early on to above-all-else writing great music that is sure to attract new fans to a genre that has become iconic.
Forming in 2012 with fourteen year-old Josh Decker on lead vocals, guitar, and keyboard and Alex Carroll on lead guitar, the band immediately began putting together the songs that would find themselves on the group’s first studio recording, 2013’s Play It Loud! EP, a release that garnered positive reviews from Tom Petty, Peter Frampton, and members of Cheap Trick. In August of that year, the band shared the stage with southern rock icons Black Oak Arkansas, further emboldening the members to continue down the path they’d begun to pave.
In 2015, drummer Brett Lowe joined the group and Pat Austin rounded out the lineup on bass in 2017. In January of 2017, the band entered Studio PH in Lincoln, Nebraska, with the intention of recording a single, “Heartbreak,” and using whatever money could be made from this release - as well as from shows - to fund a complete album. Two months later, The Rewind signed with Tremulant Records and were able to begin recording their first full album, the soon-to-be-called Casting Shadows, in May. The album dropped in September and quickly made rounds on the internet, resulting in magazine features for the band in the United States and United Kingdom, and songs from the record made their way into a number of films and television shows in Europe, Australia, and Canada.
Over the course of their career, the band has shared the stage with Pop Evil, Saving Abel, Wayland, Black Oak Arkansas, Burn Halo, Preacher Stone, Smile Empty Soul, and many other well-known rock groups and have performed at a number of local and stage music festivals and events. The Rewind is committed to providing each and every audience with an authentic rock experience that is sure to leave them coming back for more. The band plans to hit the road in 2018 and is in the process of writing music that will appear on their second album, tentatively slated for a 2019 release.
21 Taras are a rock band from Littleton, Colorado that formed in 2014. Although the band was rather confident in their 2016 release "Seize The Ocean" and their 2017 EP entitled "We're Out of Money, Please Buy This EP", the band has a new sense of direction in their music with their new album "Change". Featuring horns and strings, as well as vintage keyboards in the Fender Rhodes and Vox Continental; the making of Change truly served as an open playground. The no limits, outside of the box approach to writing and recording as demonstrated in this album truly opens them up to push the boundaries as to how many sounds they can encompass as a band; and they feel their options are endless.
"I like to say that nothing is off the table." says lead singer Julian Fulco. "The variety in our music is what continues to keep me going. We don't play by any rules when it comes to what we write and record. Every day sparks new feelings and opens new doors for who we are and what we are capable of." Change was recorded by the band themselves, while being mixed and mastered by astute engineer Mark Derryberry (ELO and various sound design projects ) in Arvada, Colorado. Julian; along with Mark and Jim Boyd; made sure that even the smallest of details came across in production. With the diverse sounds of 60s throwback tune "Time Traveler" and the vintage keyboards and mellotron sounds of "Sleep Softly" to the raw rockers "Change Is Gonna Come" and "Fatal Farm", the band makes sure to represent a wide range of styles that keep you intrigued and enthralled to reabsorb the many layers that construct the tracks.
The band hopes to continue this growth when they return to the road later in the year and are eager to play for larger audiences in as many areas as they can reach. The band takes pride in their live performances, citing that their energy on stage is very personal and authentic. They love to bring the songs that they have created to life in ways that they have never done before. They believe that this is only the beginning, and they are excited for what lies ahead as they continue their tread towards prominence.
