This event is 21 and over
Lizzy Marella is a 19-year-old singer-songwriter based in the LA area. She started singing at age 7, and she taught herself piano and guitar when she was 8. By age 9, she had begun writing original music. After writing and performing in jazz ensembles throughout middle school, Lizzy was accepted to Interlochen Arts Academy's Singer-Songwriter program and spent four years there, perfecting her craft. She then attended Berklee College of Music in the fall of 2017.
Lizzy Marella writes and performs pop music with R&B and jazz influences. She has a distinct and appealing sound that cannot be easily compared to other artists. Lizzy writes songs from her own experiences, but also the experiences of those closest to her. She writes from both a place of worthlessness and a place of over-confidence. Her descriptive lyrical style allows her work to resonate with all who hear it. Many would argue that she is just as much of a poet as she is a songwriter.
R O B I
Ashley Robicheaux, frequently known as Robi, is a multidisciplinary artist based out of Los Angeles. As a trained dancer of 15 years, she has expanded into making music and acting in films and immersive theater. As a choreographer and dancer, she has worked with music artists such as Maggie Rogers, Lennon Stella, MUSE, FKA Twigs, Billie Eilish, brands such as Gucci, and performed in PUNCHDRUNK’s “Sleep No More”.
R O B I is polyamorous music project- her current and most frequent collaborators being Isaac Middleton and SCHOCKE. Her musical inspirations range from Bjork, Sylvan Esso, Dirty Projectors, The XX. She released her first EP “Lost//Forward” in 2018 and has two upcoming EP’s to be released in late 2019.
Nyah is a self-produced singer-songwriter & composer from Carson, California. Similar to an Impressionist painter, she emphasizes sentiment above reality in her mesmerizing sonic portraits. The thought-provoking artist became quickly enamored with harmony and rhythm from her early involvement in vocal jazz ensembles. Subsequently, her studies in film scoring catalyzed the development of her unique sound and artistic voice.
2017 birthed the release of Nyah’s instrumental EP, Night Lights, an original score she composed in Sydney, Australia while co-creating the eponymous short film. Her musical composition won Best Original Score at the 2017 Reel Stories Film Festival. The film was later screened in the Windrider Forum at Sundance in January 2018. Nyah released her debut record, Real Now, in 2018. The dreamy 6 track EP challenges perceptions of reality as lyrically existential and cathartic melodies glide over ethereal tones— a poetic language revealing the vastness of the inner world. Nyah’s live performances have become experimental playgrounds for where she may head next, musically.
