Idan Raichel - Piano Songs

Idan Raichel

Israeli singer-songwriter and world music sensation Idan Raichel returns to the Big Apple on November 14, 2019 at 7:30pm with a rare solo performance at the Concert Hall at New York Society for Ethical Culture.

Known for his soul-stirring global-fusion sound, inspired by traditional Jewish, Arab and Ethiopian music, Raichel is one of Israel’s best-known cultural exports. Following his big breakthrough in 2003 with the release of the song “Bo’ee”, The Idan Raichel Project became a top-selling band, and Raichel became an ambassador representing a hopeful world in which artistic collaboration breaks down barriers between people of different backgrounds and beliefs. Over the years, he has collaborated with American pop stars India.Arie, Dave Matthews and Alicia Keys, not to mention a wide range of artists who are household names in their native countries.

Raichel, who sings primarily in Hebrew, as well as English, has been described in Jewish Week as “Israel’s crossover king,” and credited with “almost singlehandedly evolutionizing mainstream Israeli music.” For this performance, Raichel will play solo acoustic and electric piano featuring songs from his newest solo album, And If You Will Come to Me ( Ve'Eem Tavo'ee Elay in Hebrew) and share stories of his inspirational journey.
