Arena & Ward
original acoustic sounds by singer-songwriter duo, Kara Arena and Eleri Ward, combining their work together for the first time live
Mario is a singer-songwriter from Vermont who started humming song ideas into his iPod in public bathrooms when he was 14. Those tunes slowly turned into songs which turned into music that draws inspiration from pop and musical theatre! His acoustic set is not only going to feature originals he wrote in math class, but also covers of some of his favorite songs!
Mezzo soprano-pianist-composer Jesse Maclaine began working as a professional performer and recording artist at age 20 and by 25 she had collaborated with friends in New Orleans and RCA Studios Nashville to produce her premiere LP as Aural Elixir. Now based in Denver and seasoned by over two decades as a performer and composer, she is held in high regard by peers, critics, and music lovers worldwide. Her shows are thoughtfully curated to include a sturdy framework of popular covers, obscure treasures, and finely crafted originals - enhanced by an irrepressible wave of inspiration and joie de vivre which ensures each performance is a unique experience. Many people note Jesse's music is similar to Tori Amos, Sara Bareilles, Regina Spektor, Fiona Apple, Joni Mitchell, or Carole King, yet all agree her sound is one of a kind. Whether solo, duo, or larger ensemble, Jesse Maclaine delivers lovely, soulful, groovy, exciting music that is both accessible and defies categorization.
