Rachel Ann Morgan
Rachel Ann Morgan is a singer/songwriter in the Baltimore & DC area. Her strong background in musical theatre gives her a unique stage presence and ability to shift between different genres of music. Although she works on multiple projects from electronic to funk, her heart lies with blues, rock, and soul music. She has been working with a variety of different groups writing and creating original music with a focus on the Baltimore based blues/rock group she fronts, Hop’t.
In the past few years, Rachel Ann has had the opportunity to share the stage with many note-able musicians such as tenor saxophonist Ron Holloway (Warren Haynes Band, Susan Tedeschi Band), Matt Abts and Jorgen Carlson (Gov’t Mule, Planet of the Abts), as well as many up-and-coming musicians in the DC blues/rock scene. Her main influences include blues/rock legends such as Janis Joplin, Etta James, and Joni Mitchell as well as more contemporary female powerhouses such as Susan Tedeschi, Beth Hart, and Bonnie Raitt.
Rachel Ann has worked with many different groups throughout the Baltimore/DC area including the Ron Holloway band, the Charm City Funk Brigade, the Bobby Thompson Project, as well as her own band, Hop't. She lives and breathes music from writing and playing to watching, listening and expanding her music knowledge.
