Kris Bowers hit the globe touring and recording with jazz artists Marcus Miller, José James, Terell Stafford, Vincent Herring, Louis Hayes, Casey Benjamin, and Kenneth Whalum III. He performed at this year’s prestigious NEA Jazz Masters Awards where he guested with Frank Wess’s, Benny Golson, Wynton Marsalis and the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra. Kris won the 2011 Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition Award and was the first recipient of the Luther Henderson Scholarship at Juilliard; where he completed his Masters degree in Jazz Performance with a focus on film composition this past spring. Kris has worked with other artists
including: Murs, Q-Tip, Jay-Z and Kanye West, and he’s featured on, Watch the Throne. He’s also performed for notable individuals including Clint Eastwood, Morgan Freeman and President Barack Obama. Join us as we welcome Kris fresh off the recording of his debut album to the first of what we hope will be many future performances at Ginny’s Supper Club. Kris will be joined by some special guests as he brings his sophisticated swagger for two not-to-be-missed special sets.
