Fiddler on the Rooftop Bar
Brought to you by the creators of Handmaid’s Tale: The Musical (Marcia Belsky & Melissa Stokoski) — Fiddler on the Rooftop Bar is a musical parody in which the L Train shutdown forces Tevye and his long time platonic roommate Golde to relocate from their home above a Buffalo Exchange in Williamsburg to the strange and foreign land of Astoria, far from the home they love.
Marcia Belsky is a New York City based stand-up comedian, musician and writer. In 2014, she was a semifinalist in the NBC StandUp For Diversity competition, and her web series Couch House was an official selection in the 2015 New York Television Festival. Currently, she performs stand up regularly around the New York area and has contributed to the popular satirical website Reductress. She is the lead singer of the "radical" feminist band Free the Mind and her project The Headless Women of Hollywood has been featured on Funny or Die, USA Today, Buzzfeed, Guys We F***cked, AV Club, E!News and more.
Melissa Stokoski is a comedian and writer based in Brooklyn, New York.
She is a producer and host of the long-running stand up show Bitches' Brew as well as the interactive Twitter show, Like Me Comedy. She is a regular guest on SiriusXM's Radio Andy and appears every Tuesday on John Fugelsang's Tell Me Everything on Insight. Stokoski has been featured on TruTV's Late Night Snack and is a freelance contributor for Elite Daily.
Jon Wan is a performer, drag artist, and organizing consultant based in New York City. Trained at the Upright Citizen Brigade Theater, He performs monthly at the All Asian Variety Show, Asian AF, does stand up and solo performance all across New York City and Brooklyn and in 2017, was named by Time Out Magazine as one of the 'LGBT rising comedians to watch'. He also performs under the sweet and sultry drag persona, *Kiko Soirée*, and co-produces the character-driven drag cabaret "Kiko and Tuna" seasonally at the Duplex in the West Village.
Shalewa Sharpe tells jokes. She developed her sly yet goofy style in Atlanta, where she was raised. Currently in Brooklyn, New York, she has joked on the extremely popular “Night Train with Wyatt Cenac” show and the influential weekly Comedy Night at The Knitting Factory. She has joked on “You’re The Expert,” a public radio game show featured on Boston’s WBUR. She has joked at festivals, too - at RiotLA (Los Angeles), the Eugene Mirman Comedy Festival (Brooklyn), Comedy Exposition (Chicago) and Red Clay Comedy Festival (Atlanta). She co-produces and hosts a number of shows, including “Thug Passion Presents,” a lively table read and celebration of classic Black movies. In May 2016, her debut album, “Stay Eating Cookies,” was released on Rotknee Presents Records; it can be found on iTunes & Amazon and heard on Spotify, Pandora, and Sirius XM radio. She tells jokes on Twitter (@silkyjumbo) and posts self portraits of varying success on Instagram (@silkyjumbo).
Sarah Dooley writes and performs music & comedy.
Sometimes simultaneously! Her debut album of original music Stupid Things was covered on NPR and hit #16 on the iTunes pop charts. Most recently, one of her songs was featured in CBS's The Good Fight. Her original comedy book Are You My Uber? is due to be published by Running Press this fall. She performs all over New York City playing her songs and telling funny stories. In 2011 she wrote and starred in a web series "And Sarah" that was featured in the New York Times.
