Los Angeles’ latest output Austin Ward is a singer-songwriter and guitarist, thrilled to share his debut EP “Pheromone” with listeners. Raised between the sun-kissed jungle gym of Los Angeles and the backwood charm of Meridian, Mississippi, Ward draws upon his eclectic upbringing to inform his sound. His music takes listeners through a tale of first love and the lessons of heartbreak on the other side, driven by intricate layered guitar parts, velvety mid-range and falsetto vocal performances, and anthemic timbre, pulling you into a vortex of subtle sex appeal. With lush instrumentation and poetic, but pointed, lyricism, Ward has developed a sound that’s a must hear.
Jean Carter is a 21-year-old Los Angeles native pioneering a new sound rooted in hip-hop, blues, and neo-soul. Jean began playing the violin at the age of 6, guitar at the age of 9, and his interest in rap sparked from a middle school poetry assignment. Jean’s artistry began to further mature in high school as a member of the hip-hop trio Your Grandparents. There he developed a versatile sound and an ear for unique melodies.
While still working with Your Grandparents, 2019 marks Jean Carter’s introduction as a solo artist. His new records encapsulate his genre-bending abilities as he taps into both his sultry tone and matured songwriting skills. His upcoming project makes it clear that Jean Carter is one to keep your eye on.
Rett Madison, originially from West Virginia, is a songwriter currently based in Los Angeles. Rett is currently working on her debut album that will be released by summer 2019.
