Marcus Buser

Marcus Buser

Marcus Buser’s catchy love songs display a depth and maturity not often seen in young singer songwriters. His soothing baritone croons sentimental lyrics over subtly intricate arrangements made easily palpable by the ever present grooving bass and backbeat drums. Raised in the rainforests outside of Seattle, Marcus began his musical journey singing gospel with his Family band. At the tender age of 4 he could barely hold a microphone, but he could certainly hold a tune. By thirteen he had recorded a full length record and performed all around the northwest at various gospel music festivals as a multi-instrumentalist comfortable singing complex vocal harmony arrangements whilst switching between guitar, bass, piano, and drums. In high school Marcus fell in love with the upright bass and began studying jazz and classical music. After attending college Buser moved to Los Angeles and began his career as a performing musician. As a professional bassist Marcus has been seen performing in LA and touring nationally with artists Laura Jean Anderson, Van William, and Lydia Luce, as well as writing and recording with LA based surf rock band Bird Concerns. His upcoming EP Bad Dreams marks his first solo effort. These songs take influence from Buser’s eclectic background, drawing from american classics like Chet Baker and Otis Redding while somehow remaining totally modern.
