British folk singer and songwriter
Christian Lopez is not merely riding the wave of Americana Music, the West Virginia native, is bending it to its knees. With the will of his voice and the stomp of a steady beat, Christian Lopez and his band are pioneering their own brand of Alt. Folk Country Rock. Like a young Whitman, Lopez translates the iconic America before him into rousing romps and searing serenades employing crisp and thoughtful imagery and storytelling. Lopez is turning traditional songwriting on its head. Lopez takes listeners on a heartfelt rampage through emotion, energy and excitement caring less about the hook then hooking them in with the range and passion in his voice. One moment the music traverses the depths of one’s interior life and the next it rips the listener into a frenzy - a call to stomp, romp and roll.
Jackson Howard’s soul-infused folk draws influence from James Taylor, Paul Simon and Ben Howard. Based in Philadelphia, Jackson has performed over 500 shows, touring the US, Canada, Iceland, Germany, Belgium and Netherlands, performing at SXSW 2018 and sharing bills with with Nicholas David, Megan Davies and Nick Jameson of Foghat among others. His latest release, Just for the Mystery recorded at Dark Horse Studios, has been played on over 100 radio stations in the US and Europe and has been licensed by MTV, E!, Discovery, and Netflix among other TV networks.
Having earned a PhD and worked in research prior to his music career, many of Jackson’s songs deal with change and our eternal search for self. After juggling a job at Washington University in St. Louis with an ever growing performance schedule, Howard ultimately left academia in 2015 to focus his energies on his music full time. Introspective yet generalizable, his lyrics touch regret, hope, self-deception, and love.
