Carverton is an American rock band formed in the spring of 2014 by Guitarist Michael Curry from Dillsburg Pennsylvania, and Vocalist Kyle Yorlets from Carlisle Pennsylvania. In the Fall of 2015 Curry moved to Nashville, joining Yorlets who was attending Belmont University at the time. The duo then found drummer Christian Ferguson, and bassist Sean Wykoski, completing their lineup. The group played their first show as a 4 piece in August of 2016.
By 2017, the band had been headlining small clubs and opening for touring acts. Summer 2017 marked the bands first US east coast tour highlighted by 3 sets at Firefly Music Festival. The self titled Carverton EP was released in August of 2017.
2018 was a year of transition. Wykoski left the group and the band found current bassist Michael Wiebell, U.S. Army Veteran of the 82nd Airborne division based in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Wiebell moved to Tennessee to pursue music, then crossed paths with the group. The 2nd Quarter of 2018 the group had been writing and recording their Debut LP "Chasing Sounds" produced by Danen Rector.
In February 2019, tragedy struck the Carverton family when lead vocalist Kyle Yorlets lost his life due to gun violence, being the victim of an attempted robbery. The band released "Chasing Sounds" in February of 2019, donating half of the earnings to a music scholarship set up in his name, and in March 2019 played a memorial show in honor of him.
Carverton continues as a 3 piece, with new music on the horizon.
