Louisiana legend and two-time GRAMMY winner Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience will be live on stage at the Cohoes Music Hall on Friday, March 1st. Joining Simien will be the powerhouse GRAMMY-nominated Professor Louie and the Crowmatix.

For 35 years Terrance Simien, eighth-generation Louisiana Creole has been shattering myths about what his indigenous Zydeco music is—and is not. Leading his Zydeco Experience bandmates—long-time member Danny Williams, Stan Chambers, Curtis Watson, Lance Ellis and Kevin Menard, Simien has become one of the most accomplished and respected artists in American roots music today. He and his band have toured millions of miles to over forty-five countries! 2018 marked Simien’s 33rd consecutive year appearing at the world-renowned New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival. Over the years, he has shared the stage with Dr. John, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon and the Dave Matthews Band. His music has appeared in many commercials and movies, including the blockbuster “The Big Easy” starring Dennis Quaid. Through his “Creole for Kids and the History of Zydeco” program, he has been recognized extensively for his work and artistic contribution as a respected cultural ambassador for Louisiana and the country.

Professor Louie and the Crowmatix are a Woodstock-based super group whose members have toured and recorded with Bob Dylan, Van Morrison, Levon Helm, and Joe Jackson. They are Blues Hall of Fame inductees in New York and in Canada. Expect sparks to fly when the get together with Simien!
