Of Montreal

of Montreal is a band from Athens, GA.
The band’s recorded material can be divided into two distinct periods. Their early work focused on 60s-tinged pop and psychedelic elements channeled through the prism of Kevin Barnes’s unique lyricism. In more recent years of Montreal's style changed to a mixture of electronica, funk, glam, and afrobeat music influenced by Prince and David Bowie.

Just the facts...Athens GA trio Yip Deceiver arrived 2011 with a four song, self titled EP on Aerobic International. Originally a solo effort by Davey Pierce (Inkwell, of Montreal) the project grew to include Nicolas "Dobby" Dobbratz (Sugar & Gold, of Montreal) and John Swint (Modern Skirts, Easter Island). The duo version toured US, Europe, and Mexico releasing their debut album Medallius on New West Records in 2013. A split 7"single with Kishi Bashi and a 12" single with remixes by Willy Joy and Loose Shus followed on Aerobic International. The trio version went on to support Electric Six,
Turquoise Jeep, and of Montreal and eventually recorded a six song EP for New West Records which was manufactured but never released in 2015. After some time off from touring, the band returned to the studio to write and record new songs, some of which comprise the tracks for upcoming KONIEC EP. Yip Deceiver's records carry
disparate influences of punk, rock, r&b, and pop but are glued together by their unique production. As performers, they bring all the
elements to the table and commit to a powerful live show.

Haute Tension is a band from Miami, Florida that brings high energy to their live and studio performances. Formed by guitarist Alexandre Merbouti, and bassist, Monica McGivern, what began as a surf duo under the name Mo’Booty, has been shaped into something entirely new.

Their music dances and entrances between Monica’s driving bass lines and Alexandre’s deep baritone voice, only to hit you with a crushing wall of sound that dissipates just as quickly as it came. Haute Tension enjoys straying from the confines of the traditional venue setting.

Their performances adapt to alternative spaces such as galleries, art museums, and even empty malls as they often include homemade visuals to create an engaging experience for any audience. In the three short years as a band, they have been across the US and Europe playing music festivals and venues large and small with the like's of Herbie Hancock, Ty Segall, Hinds, Yonatan Gat, Thee Oh Sees, Kikagaku Moyo, Comedian Eric Andre, Ezra Furman, Boytoy, The Nude Party, and L.A. Witch.

August 2018 brought the release of their first full length album. The self-titled debut was released after the longest ever intra-city tour where Haute Tension booked and played one concert a day for 31 days straight, in locations across Miami.
