ALL ABOUT ELVIS, a project conceived and created by Rex Fowler of Aztec Two-Step fame, includes a screening of Fowler’s original short documentary film “200 CADILLACS” followed by a live concert featuring his band Rex & The Rockabilly Kings.

ABOUT THE FILM: The film is a captivating look at Elvis’ extreme generosity that touched many people in his personal life as well as complete strangers. The movie is filled with rare footage, photographs from personal collections, and interviews (led by Rex) with many of the recipients of Elvis’ lavish gifts of luxury cars, houses and jewelry. The film is also supported by a captivating soundtrack that includes songs written and/or performed by Fowler, Jon Pousette-Dart, Levon Helm with Mavis Staples, John Hiatt, and Syd Straw, to name a few.
“I like Elvis well enough, but I’m not a devotee, and I never thought I’d find this film as compelling as I did.” – Leonard Maltin, Movie Critic

ABOUT REX & THE ROCKABILLY KINGS: Following the film, Rex’s band Rex & The Rockabilly Kings will take the stage. They’ll perform a set of soulful authentic renditions of early Elvis classics from his Sun and early RCA Records days of 1954 into the early ’60’s, exploring the groundbreaking blend of roots, blues and gospel that led to Elvis being referred to as The King of Rock and Roll. Rex leads the band on Elvis-style acoustic guitar, compelling lead vocals and historically accurate and often amusing song introductions. He’s backed by a dazzling 3-piece band featuring brothers Billy and Steven “Muddy” Roues on Scotty Moore-style electric guitar and Bill Black-style slap bass respectively. Muddy also plays a riveting blues harp solo on “Mystery Train” and both brothers sing their share of lead vocals. Joe Geary rounds out the band on ‘good vibes’ and D. J. Fontana-style drums and percussion. The Roues brothers also contribute stirring Jordanaires-style harmonies that were an essential part of Elvis’ early sound.
“Elvis defined Rock & Roll: The sneer, the hair, the twisting knees, the thrusting hips, the Pink Cadillac.” – Dick Clark, American Bandstand

ABOUT REX FOWLER: Since 1971, as co-founder of the celebrated folk-rock group Aztec Two-Step, Fowler has performed worldwide and toured with scores of notable artists including Bruce Springsteen, Jackson Browne and The Band. As a most enduring and prolific artist, he continues to thrill and engage audiences, whether with his Aztec Two-Step catalog or with one of his other brilliant endeavors.
