2nd Time Around
Cape Gazette/Beach Paper columnist and radio personality Bob Yesbek (aka The Rehoboth Foodie) brings his pre-Rehoboth past to the Cape Region with an eclectic mix of light jazz, popular standards and vintage rock in the form of musical trio 2nd Time Around.
Playing the iconic Hammond B-3 organ, Yesbek was a band leader for 28 years, playing rock, R&B and jazz; including a 4-year run in the late ‘60s/early ‘70s at the former Hideaway Lounge on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Md. So after all these years, 2nd Time Around is appropriately named. Bob is joined onstage by veteran drummer and educator Ken Schleifer and noted sax / clarinet artist Ken Cicerale.
A former student of legendary saxophonists Gerry Niewood and Frank Foster, Cicerale has performed as both leader and sideman with various jazz and pop ensembles. Appearing mainly in the greater New York area, Ken lived most of his adult life in New York and Connecticut, touring and recording with several nationally known artists. He currently resides in Georgetown, Delaware.
Ken Schleifer is a lifelong professional drummer, percussionist and vocalist who has performed in jazz groups, big bands, rock bands and R&B, blues, and Latin groups. Schleifer spent 14 years as the Elementary Instrumental Music Teacher for the Cape Henlopen School District. He now lends his talents to local bands, choirs and theater ensembles as he furthers his passion for music here in the Cape Region.
