Quique Ramirez NY Quintet

Quique Ramírez was born in Benissa in 1988, a small town in the Valencian Community (Spain). I started playing drums at the age of ten while I finished his classical percussion studies.

At the age of 19, after attending two years to class with the Valencian drummer Felip Santandreu and classes of harmony and combo with the saxophonist Lolo Garcia, I have accepted the Superior Conservatori del Liceu in Barcelona. There received classes from Gergo Borlai, Ramon Prats, David Xirgu, Sergi Verges, David Mengual, Llibert Fortuny, among others. Received his Bachelor's degree in 2014.

He also recieved classes from Jeff Ballard, Chris Cheek, Ben Monder and Aaron Goldberg.

Quique is considered a versatile and energic musician, playing from the openmind point of view of different music styles like jazz, electronic beats, funk and rock.

He's an active member of the Spanish jazz scene and participated in various jazz festivals including Voll Damm Jazz Festival of Barcelona, ​​La Mercé, Black Music Festival of Barcelona and Canarias Jazz Showroom, Mallorca Black Festival, Sa Pobla Jazz Festival, Jazz Festival 'Alfàs del Pi among others.

Furthermore, I have been involved with various projects including Gordon Blue, REQI, Barreiro Project, Orange Juice Funk Collective, Pere Bujosa Group, Iago Aguado Quartet, and others. And played with musicians like David Binney, Becca Stevens, JD Walter, Patrice Blanchard, Freddie Bryant, Juan Munguia, David Pastor, Daniel Juárez, El Piraña, Carme Canela and a long etc ...
