Residing in the outskirts of Los Angeles, standards are a two-piece math rock band with a penchant for energy. Forming in the summer of 2017, standards have grown quickly in a short amount of time, opening for bands such as Polyphia, Covet and Delta Sleep as well as earning a top spot on math rock blog Fecking Bahamas end of year best releases 2018 list. Guitarist Marcos Mena incorporates various styles of guitar playing to create the illusion of multiple guitar parts while drummer Kynwyn Sterling exhibits a plethora of grooves in odd-times signatures to create a live show sensation that leaves crowds wanting more.
Invalids used to be Pete and Nick, then Nick kinda left but didn’t really, but they didn’t know each other off the internet, so Pete met three more people, albeit from the internet, but FROM the internet they came out of the internet and played the parts Pete can’t play, so now we’re us, four dudes with posi tudes playing many many notes and sweating for crowds small to large <3
Palmlines began playing music together in 2015, trying to merge influences from Alexi Murdoch to Radiohead to The Redneck Manifesto. The band’s debut album, 'Get in Line, Lucy,' released in mid-2017, is the (surprisingly) fortunate result of a series of misguided decisions that led the band to think that self-producing a full-length album alongside coursework was a good idea. Since the release, they've opened for the likes of PUP and Delta Sleep, and have also been invited to the World Cafe Live studios in Philadelphia to record a live session. With more music in the works, the band's future is curious.
Echo Lad is math rock, emo, and indie rock influenced band based out of Philadelphia PA. The band consists of Charlie Dubuc, Mike Horvath, and RJ O'Neil. The three met in grade school and their love and passion for music has cultivated together ever since then. The overlap of influences and genre styles makes for an incredibly unique and enjoyable sound/dynamic.
