V. To speak with influence.
We believe that all good art should inspire. We want to showcase & support artists that present their own art in this way. We want to make a difference in the way music is made, shared, & heard. The HSR on our artist’s records is more than just a label; it is our stamp of approval & support. We hope to provide artists with a community of creatives & listeners with a collective of great art. We hope that when you come across a record with a ‘HSR’ on the cover, you will be just as moved & inspired as our artists where to create it.
Every road has its story.
Growing up in Missouri as the son of Nigerian immigrants, the life of Ike Ndolo is a woven tapestry of experiences: hymns and Bob Marley, injustice and mercy, discrimination and acceptance. As a result, Ike has become a well-tested navigator of the human experience. He aims to share and guide you through stories that inform and even reorient your perspective.
With deep and soulful gospel roots, Ike draws from new wave R&B and powerful, vocal-driven performances, calling on modern influences such as Anderson .Paak and St. Paul and the Broken Bones. Sprinkle in some synth beats and surprising deconstructions of his former style and this makes his newest album, “Shine,” a monument that musically mirrors the many worlds he walks through daily.
Ike Ndolo released three singles in the summer of 2018, “Guiding Light,” “Your Table” & “Follow Me,” all of which are featured on his third LP, “Shine,” released on September 17th, 2018. Recorded at Gnome Studios in Nashville, TN in conjunction with Hardspeak Records.

Phoenix transplant to Nashville, Ryne Norman made his Nashville debut after releasing his Americana folk rooted 'Revival EP' in the spring of 2015.
Much like the saguaros in his childhood backyard, Ryne Norman’s path to Nashville is as remarkable as the flourishing of those desert plants: towering and thriving despite the toil of desert living. From a very young age, Ryne started to observe his desolate world. Through writing he juxtaposed the suburban malaise with his thoughts on life, pain, and beauty. Through this process of holding seemingly contradictory thoughts together, he began to unlock what a beautifully tattered existence we live. So through a stylistic evolution from post-rock and americana roots to a vibrant aural richness of indie-pop with a feel for the times, he has crafted a new sound that transcends genre and era. Norman's music is a combination of revisiting classic 80’s elements, capturing the heart of Americana storytelling, and pulling from modern influences such as Dawes, James Vincent McMorrow, & The 1975.
Ryne Norman released his first single, “Stranger Things”, on September 22nd. It is his first single off of his debut LP, “Red Mountain” expected later this year.
Northern Diver is the musical artist project of producer David Gross.
