Peace Run is an acoustic Americana duo based in the Washington, D.C. area. The band consists of two friends –
banjo master, Keith Arneson, and vocalist, Shannon Leigh Reynolds – who formally established their musical
partnership in 2017 after Keith’s retirement from the U.S. Navy. With a strong emphasis on banjo, fingerpicking
guitar, and vocal harmony, their music is a dynamic mix of bluegrass, folk, and country that is spare and rustic,
yet fresh and powerful. Keith and Shannon are also a strong songwriting team, and their debut album released
in February 2018, Everything Is Just All Right, features seven originals, three co-written by Keith and Shannon.
Keith Arneson is lead instrumentalist for Peace Run, and is a master of several instruments, including the banjo
(three-finger and clawhammer styles) and fingerpicking guitar. Keith is a native of Waldorf, Maryland, and began
playing banjo as a teenager. After playing professionally for several years, most notably with his band, Mountain
Laurel, he joined the U.S. Navy Band Country Current as their banjoist. Keith served for 24 years in the Navy,
retiring in May 2017. Since then he has devoted his time to playing in several bands as well as his solo work. In
2017, he released a solo instrumental album titled Namaste, featuring his original song, “Mysterious Eyes,”
which won second place in the inaugural DCBU Mike Auldridge Instrumental Composition Contest.
Shannon Leigh Reynolds is the lead vocalist and rhythm guitar player for the duo. She is a native of
Lawrenceville, Georgia, but has made the D.C. area her home for over two decades. Shannon has been the
singer for several local bands, and her voice has been described as authentic and soulful, and fitting of an
Americana sound. She has shown herself to be a talented lyricist and songwriter, having written all of the lyrics
for Peace Run’s originals and also the music for four more of the originals that appear on their debut album.
