Grab the nearest fire extinguisher cos Jen Awad is about to set your wig alight.
This half Egyptian, half Peruvian powerhouse delivers the kneecap melting soul and sass of Etta James combined with an in-your-face swagger reminiscent of Tina Turner. Self taught on vocals, piano, guitar and bass, Jen also pens the lyrics to all of her material.
Jen's ability to deliver cherubic, velvety vocals that effortlessly transition into the radical rumble of a runaway 18 wheeler doing 90 mph on an open highway is a feat in itself to witness live. Backed by an eight member band with a horn section, Jen Awad packs a combination punch that will leave your core ringing in the most delectable manner imaginable.
Dream Machines specialize in making air move in a way that is clinically proven to make humans enjoy themselves.
Iconique melds disco rhythms and silky synth highlights to draw out the shimmering grit within pop music. Since arriving onto the scene in 2015, the band’s opulent sound has earned praise from a diverse set of media outlets and has been featured in Billboard, Earmilk, Gawker Media, and World of Wonder. The group electrifies live audiences with over-the-top displays of grandeur and the occasional keytar solo. Before their first pair of dance shoes had even worn through, Iconique graced the stage of some of Los Angeles’s most in vogue venues including The Echo, The Echoplex, and The Satellite. The trio consists of brothers Eric Promani (drums / synths) and Greg Promani (guitar), and frontman Leo Paparella (vocals / synths). Listeners are lured onto the dance floor with a synthesis of sounds ranging from Chic to David Bowie. By drawing from the past, Iconique creates the disco of the future.
CAPYAC is a surreal dance act with as much Berlin/Detroit/French electronic influences as jazz, funk and the swirl of modern genres mixed in. Started in Austin, TX with a consortium of collaborators, the founding duo is now based in Los Angeles, CA regularly featuring guest vocalists, dance troupes, and fish mongers to elate and enlighten.
Their debut single “Speedracer” set the stage for an avant-garde aesthetic alongside chill Rhodes piano, slowed nudisco beats and funky guitars. With “Headlunge”, “Fis” and “Who is Donny Flamingo?” multi track releases, we saw the musical partners P. Sugz and Potion dabbling in minimal techno, spy-movie theme songs, trap jazz and every genre amidst the kicks and snares. With regular contributions from saxophonist Papa Mongoose, MC Rudi Devino, vocalists, nay jesters Oolaf & Bean and percussionist/daredevil The Hollywood Jingle, their live shows are infamously full of antics you’ll only see at a CAPYAC show -be it freshly griddled pancakes tossed from the ACL Fest stage, wild musical and theatrical improvisations at Capitol Hill Block Party, Twilight at the Pier and Euphoria Fest or puppeteering across California’s finest stages.
Appearing alongside CLASSIXX, Washed Out, Holy Ghost, Tennyson and more; since 2016 they have performed 250+ shows across the US, MX and throughout Europe to much acclaim and confused smiles.
Modern music declassifiers, CAPYAC are steadily releasing singles as we watch them real-time stretch and explore the far reaches of (most simply put) “electronic dance music” but more aptly described as “good music to dance to.”
