This Sudden Darkness

12 Days Silent

12 Days Silent is a high-energy rock/metal band, with its roots firmly planted in Iowa. They formed in early 2009. Through persistence and keeping true to their vision, they solidified their current line-up with Marc Roe on guitars and vocals, Josh Baker on drums and vocals, Chad Robinson on guitars, and Curt Culver on bass. They are motivated by a single desire: to completely eliminate egos and distractions, and make the best music they can. The sound is heavy and precise, but has a dynamic quality to it that resonates and hooks the listener. The riffs are catchy, the sound is loud and in-your-face, and the emotion is true.

The writing is just one part of what makes 12 Days Silent a band that you need to give your attention. With an almost effortless finesse topped off with raw, unbridled energy; 12 Days Silent perform like a group of seasoned road veterans who have been touring for decades. Their live show perfectly balances explosive energy without compromising the intricate melodic breakdowns. The band brings a balance of ferocity and conviction lacking in so many live shows today, leaving a lasting impression on those who see them perform. They captivate and draw the crowd in to their world.

2009 was a great start for the band, launching a massive campaign to get their name recognizable in the music scene. They quickly gained the attention of Matt Miller, of Morbid Miller’s Top Unsigned Bands, and becoming one of the site’s Top 40 unsigned bands for 2009 and 2010. 2010 proved to be busy for 12 Days Silent. The band dropped their debut album in December, after finishing up select shows and intense writing. They have already taken the stage with great acts such as: The Dillinger Escape Plan, Taproot, ILL Nino, Soil, Green Jelly, Flaw, and Smile Empty Soul, to name a few.

It certainly appears that all the pieces are in place for 12 Days Silent. With the release of their new album coming in the summer of 2011, inspiration is coming to the uninspired once more, and this band arising from the cornfields and graveyards will be sure to leave its mark.

Aren't We All

September

September is an industrial metal presence based out of Iowa Falls, Iowa that is comprised of five individuals with one single purpose: to use their passion for music to create something new and different and share it with anyone within earshot. The result is something technically proficient, yet directly to the point. Many of their songs consistently scream out a message not of despair, but of standing up for yourself and refusing to simply allow yourself to be victimized.

These five musicians (Lucas Brighton, Thomas J Brighton, Kyle Christensen, Rick Roll, and Ashley Schonberg) are constantly challenging each other, and themselves, in effort to improve their craft. With their incredible performance energy and their undeniable presence, it truly is simply a matter of time before more and more people realize that September has arrived.

September has shared the stage with such national acts as Cold, Mushroomhead, Ventana, (HED) PE, Nonpoint, American Head Charge, Spineshank, Hanzel und Gretyl, Surrender the Fall, Motograter, Seven Day Sonnet, and Primer 55, and that resume is sure to grow in the coming months ahead.
