Jeremy Enigk was the frontman for influential Seattle band Sunny Day Real Estate. The band released its first album, "Diary", in 1994, shortly after Enigk finished high school. The band temporarily parted ways in 1995 after recording an untitled second album. During this time Enigk recorded an orchestral/acoustic solo album while bandmates William Goldsmith and Nate Mendel joined up with Dave Grohl's Foo Fighters. The band reunited in 1998 with the intention of releasing a "rarities" album, but the project evolved into a full record, "How it Feels to Be Something On". Once again the band recorded a follow-up album, "The Rising Tide" (2000), and then parted ways. In 2002, Enigk, Goldsmith and Mendel formed a new band entitled The Fire Theft.
