Sandra Battaglini

Sandra Battaglini is an award winning stand-up comic, actor and writer. She is the 2013 Canadian Comedy Award winner for her solo show, Classy Lady, directed by Phil Luzi, that premiered in Toronto in 2012 and most recently was voted ‘Best Female Standup’ by NOW Magazine.

Past performances include, Hard Headed Woman (Canadian Comedy Award Winner, 2007), Small Battalion of Soldiers (Canadian Comedy Award Nomination, 2005). She tours with the national comedy club chain, Yuk Yuks and co-hosts two of Toronto’s most alternative comedy nights, Family Slides and The Sal & Sandy Show with Phil Luzi.

Sandra appears in David Cronenberg’s latest feature, Maps to the Stars that premiered at TIFF in 2014, CBC’s sketch show Humantown, NBC Seeso’s flagship web series, The Amazing Gayle Pile and upcoming episodes of medical drama Saving Hope and Odd Squad. She is currently in development and on original concepts, including Knitterati and Family Slides with Phil Luzi. Not only has she performed throughout Canada, she has also been invited to perform in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles and was a semi-finalist in the She Devil Comedy Competition in NYC.

Phil is an actor, stand-up comic, host, and writer recognized for his physical comedy and character invention. He has also directed solo shows for Precious Chong, daughter of comedy legend Tommy Chong, and for comedy partner Sandra Battaglini. Their show, Classy Lady won a 2013 Canadian Comedy Award. Together, Phil and Sandra also write and host the hit live shows The Sal & Sandy Show and Family Slides. TV & Film credits include the ABC mini-series, The Path to 9/11, opposite Harvey Keitel; The Devil’s Tail (Winner Beloit International Film Festival, Mexico International Film Festival, Moving Image Film Festival); Nimby (winner, Atom Egoyan’s Toronto Urban Film Festival). Phil has been invited to perform the title role in Michel Tremblay’s Hosanna for Piccadilly Circus at the Players Guild Studio. Other theatre credits include the title role in Othello at Toronto’s Theatre Passe Muraille, Nino in a Canadian tour of Mambo Italiano, and Marvin in The Cygnet Theatre Company's world premiere of Pinned Up: The Exploits of Bettie. He also played Tony in the hit off-Broadway comedy Tony n' Tina's Wedding at The Second City, Toronto. Currently, Phil is writing and starring in a new comedy series, Dr. Eddie, playing the opinionated – and unlicensed – title role. He is also an ensemble cast member of Precious Chong’s two brand new series, Chinatown, and Funny or Die’s new featured hit comedy Sex & the Single Parent.

Patrick Hakeem is a comic from Montreal now based in Toronto. He has performed at JFL 42, Zoofest and NXNE festivals. He has also been featured on Sirius XM. Hakeem's high energy demands your full fixation. His brutal honesty, vulnerability, and his ability to have fun with the audience leaves them wanting more.
