Desert Mountain Tribe are a London (via Köln) based three-piece who have been picking up a global following with their heady psych-rock. The band consists of Jonty Balls (vocals, guitar), Philipp Jahn (bass), and Felix Jahn (drums).

Desert Mountain Tribe released second album Om Parvat Mystery on June 1st 2018 and the group recently completed a headline tour in mainland Europe and the UK in October.

The band is currently engaged in Europe as main tour support for Peter Murphy ‘s 40 anniversary of Bauhaus ft. David J.

Desert Mountain Tribe got off to a flying start back in 2014 with early standout track ‘Coming Down’, which was featured on Reverb Conspiracy Volume 2, a release double-headed by both Fuzz Club Records and Austin Psych Fest.

The band signed album deals with Membran (Europe) and Metropolis Records (Nth and Sth America) in 2015 following an invitation to participate with the Converse Rubber Tracks recording project in London, where the band produced a handful of cool and well-received demos.

Debut album, Either That Or The Moon was released in the spring of 2016 to positive reviews from UK publications such as Shindig, Classic Rock, Louder Than War, Drowned In Sound and The Arts Desk.

Desert Mountain Tribe’s last single of 2017, the epic ‘Interstellar¹ taken from their 2016 debut was edited down from its original nine minute duration and boasted a superb video directed by Daniel Turner of Sound & Colour, which won a Video of the Year accolade from the UK site Live4Ever and also US magazine Pow:

Subsequent releases have included two digital EP¹s, If You Don¹t Know Can You Don¹t Know Köln and Live At St. Pancras Old Church, plus the Youth mixed single Enos In Space (Top Of The World).

The band spent much of 2018 on the road, with new bass player Matthew Holt joining the group in the autumn.

New Orleans based Drag, Musician, Performance and Visual Artist and Queer Witch. Vinsantos is the Head Mister-ess of the New Orleans Drag Workshop.

Hailing from the Barbary Coast, and currently residing in New Orleans, Vinsantos got an early start experimenting with the stage playing the lead in his Christian Elementary school's production of Samson and Delilah. And yes, he played Samson, and yes he wore a wig. Fast forward into the Middle school years, he made his first musical debut playing a fierce rendition of Journey's "Don't Stop Believing" putting this artist WAY ahead of their own time. Moving into the hormonal years, this lead to several bands, none of them successful. Reaching the late 90's, Vinsantos discovered the world of the San Francisco Underground Drag Performance Art circuit and cut her nails working with the children of Trannyshack and Midnight Mass fame, earning her title of Miss Trannyshack 2000 and The Macabre Snob. From there, the entire history transformed this Queen into a collage that created this multi disciplinary artist. Playing with live music, via piano and vocals, the art of Drag, film, the spoken word and the visual arts, it's hard hard to know what to expect from Vinsantos because she rarely knows herself what she has planned next. Vinsantos has had the opportunity to work across the country (and other places) with many of her favorite artist including Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, Peaches Christ, David J (Bauhaus/Love and Rockets), Jackie Beat, Jinx Monsoon, Ben DeLa Creme, Bella Blue and practically every Drag Race and Burlesque star that's not a total C#($*!!!!. Love it or hate it, you won't soon forget it, so it's best just to get with the program.
"As far as that Vinsantos character, I feel like I just wanna Bitch slap her" - Diamanda Galas.
