Charlottetown-based Brielle Ansems has spent the better part of her life crafting an emotional connection to the world through her art. Her music is thoughtful and melodic, full of poetry and an edge of yearning. Over the past few years she has shared the stage with the likes of Ben Caplan, Liam Corcoran, Matthew Barber, and Adyn Townes, and has begun to earn the recognition of audiences and peers alike with her honest lyrics and powerful vocals. In addition to her music career, Brielle has gained notoriety for her acting work, making her professional debut at the Watermark Theatre in the summer of 2018. She is currently finishing her final year of the Holland College Theatre Performance program, and is undergoing studio work on an album to be released in 2019.
Inspired by the wispy ocean waves brushing against the rusty cinnamon shores of Prince Edward Island, Anya writes from the heart and greets the microphone with lush vocals and chiming acoustic guitar. Anya is a musician, writer, artist, and freelance model from Prince Edward Island. As a recent graduate of the Music Performance Program at Holland College, she has spent the past two years refining her musical abilities at school and performing at local venues. Her music is a mixture of Indie Folk and Jazz and can be compared to the likes of Nora Jones and Feist. !
On Friday, June 15, guitarist and songwriter Pete Richards returns to Trailside to perform songs from a new, upcoming album, as well as a few of his greatest hits. He’ll have Matt Bridges on drums and Isaac Williams on bass, with a special guest or two to be announced. And more stories.
