The Ain't Sisters
Forged in the murky depths of a Folly Beach holding cell, The Ain’t Sisters have transcended their origins as outlaw street performers to grace the stages of the Southeast with their unique brand of funk-infused, blues-driven Americana.
The duo, composed of Arrie Bozeman and Barb Carbon, blends tight harmonies and smart lyrics with soulful, booty-shakin’ acoustic melodies. Both dynamic musicians and songwriters, they share an equal propensity for irony, humor, ferocity, and heart-on-sleeve authenticity.
With common roots in Atlanta, Georgia, Arrie and Barb have been friends and cohorts for over 10 years, but The Ain’t Sisters is their first venture as a duo. Together, their musical influences range from Patty Griffin to Prince and from Lucinda Williams to Bird Cloud (seriously, check them out!). Their shared belief system is underpinned by the idea of music as community – that it should be fun and bring people together, and that’s exactly what they intend to do! Keep an eye out for The Ain’t Sisters, they might just pop up at your favorite venue, or in your living room, or (preferably) out back around your fire pit. Fair warning – they don’t stop playing until the sun comes up. YAY MUSIC!
Carly Gibson and Hannah Zale have joined forces, and they are already leaving their mark on the Atlanta music scene. Individually, these women are incredibly strong performers and songwriters; together, they are positively formidable.

Hannah Zale has a diverse background in music, beginning her career as a bumblebee in a community production of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarves," and ultimately starring in over 30 musicals throughout her life. Hannah competed in the Miss America Organization as a teen, where she learned how to command a stage and stand out in a crowd. In her recent college years, Zale's band, Boomfox, is one of the most successful young bands in Athens, playing a main stage ATHFEST show and earning the support of local heroes like David Lowery of Cracker and Julian Dorio of The Whigs. Zale currently studies voice at the elite Jan Smith Vocal Studio and just finished recording her first solo album. It is clear when you hear Hannah Zale that the girl has "IT." She has a powerful voice, relatable songs, and a stage presence that makes every audience member an instant fan.
In the music world, Carly Gibson is what you would call a triple threat: she not only composes soulful and sophisticated music, she also sings beautifully and plays a mean acoustic guitar. In addition, she is developing a substantial reputation for her lead chops on electric guitar. Carly's music resonates with the flavors that reflect her own diverse musical tastes and influences. Rock, jazz, folk, blues, Americana, bluegrass and funk all find their place in her repertoire. Carly as opened for or shared the stage with such musical luminaries as Geoff Acheson, Glen Phillips, Randall Bramblett, Caroline Aiken, Grayson Capps, Chris Hicks (Marshall Tucker Band), Michael Tolcher, Sister Sparrow and The Dirty Birds, and more.
