Kasim Sulton's Utopia

Kasim Sulton

A true journeyman, singer/songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Kasim Sulton has toured and recorded with artists as diverse as Meat Loaf, Todd Rundgren, Ringo Starr, Joan Jett, Hall and
Oates, Cheap Trick, the re-formed version of The Cars, Blue Oyster Cult, and Don Felder. He has also played and or sang on over 150 albums as well as writing the Top 20 Hit “Set Me Free” that appears on the Adventures In Utopia record.

In 1981, Kasim signed with EMI America and recorded his first self titled album. Taking a brief leave from his Utopia duties, he formed his own band and played to audiences across the US. Through the 80’s and into the 90’s Kasim toured and recorded with Joan Jett, Patty Smyth, Hall & Oates, and Cheap Trick.

After lending his vocals to the million+ selling album Bat Out Of Hell II, Kasim was asked by Meat Loaf to join his band as the rhythm guitarist and keyboard player. He switched from that position to Musical Director and Bass player in 1998, producing the Meat Loaf VH1 Storyteller’s record in 1999. Kasim never stopped writing his own songs and has released three critically acclaimed solo albums.

Often described as ‘a musicians musician’, Kasim continues to maintain a strong presence in the music industry. His current solo shows are a combination of original material complimented by memorable selections from the myriad of artists he’s worked with throughout his career. The audience is always treated to behind-the-scenes stories for a glimpse into a life spent touring and making records with some of the best known artists of our time.
