2018 has seen Cub Sport undergo a transformation from local indie band to global pop powerhouse. While it has been an astronomical year of musical wins for the band - including the entirely independent release of their sophomore album BATS and sold out shows around the world - the most striking part of their rise has been the way they’ve used their platform to share a message of love, encouraging and inspiring people all around the world to live their truth and love themselves.
Hailing from Stockholm, Sweden, Violet Days is the collaborative project between singer-songwriter/artist Lina Hansson and songwriter/producer Kris Eriksson.
Individually and as a creative team, Hansson and Eriksson have built a venerable reputation within the songwriting world via their official songwriting and production work with top artists including Phoebe Ryan, Cash Cash, Shaun Frank and The Chainsmokers, whose hit song “Paris” they co-wrote. Elsewhere, Lina was nominated for Rookie Songwriter/Producer of the Year at the 2015 Denniz Pop Awards in her native Scandinavia.
As Violet Days, they have already been gaining major traction: Their early releases have racked up millions of plays on Spotify, with first single, “Your Girl,” counting over 13 million streams on that platform alone.
In October 2018, Violet Days is releasing their debut EP, Made in My Head. Produced in its entirety by Kris, Made in My Head weaves together a dreamy soundscape found at the sonic intersection of electronic music production and alternative pop. The EP includes lead single “Somber,” a passionate ballad featuring guest vocalist Morgxn, as well as the edgy “Just A Little” and the commanding “I Think” as singles. Prior to the release of Made in My Head, Violet Days made their official worldwide debut at SXSW 2018.
With Made in My Head, Violet Days now take their most ambitious leap to date, moving to the center of the stage and in front of the world.
"Refreshing," "Romantic," and "Relatable" are a few of the terms used to describe L.A.- based pop/rock act VOILÀ. Gus Ross and Luke Eisner, respectively from London and Wisconsin -- combine authentic production, emotive vocals and magnetic lyricism as a duo.
Ross started out busking around London, which led to playing shows in London's infamous West End: even performing for the Queen. He incorporates "raw emotion and old school jazz," in his vocals. He is fascinated by the technicality of music and handles production.
On the other side of the world, Eisner's passion for music came through lyricism: fascinated by timeless literature, he fronted bands in the midwest scene. "I strive to include at least one tattoo-able phrase in every song we write," says Eisner, who also maintains a professional modeling career, which helps craft the duo's aesthetic.
VOILÀ started 2018 as one of BBC Introducing Solent's "Ones to Watch." With millions of streams on their music to date, their singles "Hundredth Second Chance" and "Lately" continue to grow. After success on Spotify and BBC radio, the songs drew eminent praise from the likes of Billboard, CelebMix, and more.
They have supported the likes of Kesha, The Fray, Flume and Martin Garrix and have played alongside acts such as Shawn Mendes, Timeflies, and Borns. They open for X Ambassadors on October 4th and plan on announcing new music and shows in the coming weeks. With their ambitious spirit, impressive dedication and undeniable charm -- VOILÀ look set for a big year.
