Michael Monagan & The Sound
Michael Monagan and The Sound loves what they do; they make great music and have fun doing it! Songwriter and guitarist, Monagan covers a wide range of emotions and styles in his songs. From “Walk,” a hard-edge Reggae number with big guitars to “Galway Bay,” an Irish-style folk song, the MM songbook is genuine, heartfelt and strong. Michael has produced two albums over the past couple of years. “Echo,” his cover of “O-o- Child,” has had 55,000 plays through SoundCloud), and “Soul Survivor,” and he also produced The Kids of Widney High’s version of “The Monster Mash” on the recently released “Dr. Demento- Covered in Punk.” Michael has also written and produced four albums for the Kids of Widney High, including the song “Pretty Girls,” that was not only featured in the Johnny Knoxville/Farrelly Bros movie “The Ringer” but was also covered by alt rapper Kid Cudi, (whose version made it to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100). The band is made up of veteran players from the L.A. music scene. Joe Turano (keys, sax, and harmonies) was Al Jarreau’s musical director for 12 years. He’s also played with George Benson and Rod Stewart among others. Demont Crawford (bass and harmonies) and Ishmael Ferguson (drums) are also the rhythm section for the Wylde Bunch and have played with luminaries such as Musiq Soulchild, Eric Benet, Dwele, and Angie Stone. Our horn section is made up of Roch Bordenave on trombone (Eddie Kendricks, Mel Torme, David Ruffin) and trumpeter Paul Salvo (Pointer Sisters, Cher, Billy Crystal, Frank Sinatra). Michael Monagan and The Sound creates a musical experience that includes elements of pop, rock, reggae, folk, soul, jazz, and blues, and while there are many different styles of songs, they are synthesized into a locomotive of good vibes and great music!
Roc O Star
Some people know him as a behind scenes producer, writer, gym owner and father but who really knows the real Roc O Star. How did this young man come from having nothing, destined to follow in the footsteps of things he grew around in the inner city and reverse his path after a few tragic bumps in the road to channel his energy to helping children and Pursuing Music.
SINGLE “She Work” The Anthem
“THERE IS NO FORCE MORE POWERFUL THAN A SINGLE MOM DOING WHATEVER IT TAKES TO PROVIDE FOR HER CHILDREN. ' SHE WORK" THE ANTHEM”
My new single “She Work “ touches on my life story – Roc O Star is not the glorified entertainer with all the stuff in video I don’t really own. but with a message to teach people to learn from other mistakes – there is no happy ending to hustling. I make music that normal people can relate to. I fight for the little guy. There are hundreds of millions of me out there that do what they have to do to put food on table.
My New single is “She Work “ Album UNDAMAGED- THE STORY OF ME which is part 1 of a 5 part Mini movie series about my life. The video reflects on my childhood, raised by a single mom.
